Dr. Christine Valuckas

President

Dr. Christine Valuckas is an experienced higher education administrator who served as Cecil College’s Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services for 24 years and Dean of Continuing Education for 8 years. As Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services, she was responsible for accounting, auxiliary services, budget planning, payroll, procurement, finance, facilities management, events management, human resources, public safety, risk management and insurance, as well as minor capital and major construction projects. She negotiated land acquisitions, building and equipment leases, and all major contracts for the college.

Her leadership was instrumental in developing strategic plans, campus master plans, and comprehensive accreditation reports. She also served as the college’s legal liaison with its general counsel, employment and labor attorney, and construction attorney. During her time at Cecil College, she served on the Board of the Cecil College Foundation, helping raise funds for scholarships and major capital projects.

Dr. Valuckas currently serves as President of the Community Foundation for Cecil County. Since 2016, she has also held leadership roles with the Friends Foundation of the Cecil County Public Library, including serving as Treasurer and Chair. In addition, she served as a member and secretary of the Chesapeake Isle Civic Association (HOA) Board of Directors for six years, where she was awarded the 2023 Woman of the Year for her volunteer service to the community. Her past volunteer service includes leadership roles with the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce and the Business & Education Partnership Advisory Council (BEPAC).

Dr. Valuckas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Ursuline College, a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of Sarasota.
