How It Works

A Nonprofit Agency Endowment Fund is established when a nonprofit organization transfers board-designated assets to CFCC. The purpose of the fund is to provide long-term financial support to the organization for the foreseeable future. These funds will remain the property of the nonprofit organization and remain a part of their financial statements.

Building an endowment is a critical step to ensure your nonprofit’s long-term success, financial stability, and donor confidence. Partnering with CFCC alleviates the burden of investing and administering endowment fund assets while providing your organization access to professional investment expertise.

Your assets are invested to achieve long-term capital growth, while a portion of your funds is distributed annually to support your organization’s vital programs and operations.

A Nonprofit Agency Endowment Fund can be established with a minimum contribution of $50,000. Your organization can make additional contributions to the fund at any time. The fund can be named after your organization, in honor of a major donor, or another name that reflects your organization’s mission.

Important Information

Although the assets in the endowment are legally held and managed by CFCC, they continue to be recorded on your nonprofit organization’s balance sheet. This allows the organization to report those assets as their own, with the offsetting activity reported in net assets.
