David Lewis, CPA, CFE, brings more than 40 years of accounting and financial management experience to the Community Foundation for Cecil County.

The first half of his career was spent in public accounting, where he provided auditing, tax, and consulting services to a wide range of clients, including nonprofit organizations, foundations, healthcare organizations, colleges, and universities.

Dave later transitioned to higher education administration, serving as Controller for Cecil College from 2000 to 2007. From 2008 until his retirement in 2022, he served as Assistant Vice President and Controller at Wilmington University, overseeing accounting, financial reporting, tax functions, auxiliary services, and facilities operations.

In addition to his professional career, Dave has served on the Board of Westside Family Healthcare for approximately 30 years. During his tenure, he has served on the organization’s finance committee and held leadership roles including Vice Chairman and Treasurer. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Delaware and Maryland Societies of CPAs.

Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Goldey-Beacom College and an MBA from Wilmington University.
